I understand that this sounds a lot like “l2p” but for someone who is starting a new class/role/level of competition that is the thing which one (usually) needs to tackle first (me too btw, I am constantly learning new stuff ^^). These abilities are gained by experience and I often find that at the point in difficulty where these differences in secondary stats become important the tank usually just adapts to what he/she feels is lacking. I prefer a tank with “non-optimal” stats but with the knowledge of how much he can pull depending on the group, affixes, dungeon and position, a tank who knows the pitfalls of the dungeons and who knows when to kite and when to stand, how to time CDs and so on. That being said: If you want to be a successful m+ tank the most important thing, from my experience, is not your equipment but your experience.
